On 11th July, 2025, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology’s (MMUST) Innovation Academy participated in the final pitching challenge for the regional competition of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Olympiad 2025. The Academy presented a total of eight proposals, aimed at addressing various SDG-related challenges.
Other participating institutions included United States International University (USIU-Africa), the University of Lagos, Asian Institute of Technology and the University of Geneva. The Director of Science Park, Incubation and Innovation Centre (SPIIC)-Dr. Tecla Sum, served as one of the judges for the competition, alongside other international experts.
MMUST Innovation Academy is currently awaiting the official results of the regional challenge. The top-performing student from the leading group will earn the opportunity to represent the University in the global finals in Geneva.
