Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has emerged as a global leader in innovation, clinching the top position in the prestigious International Innovation Academy competition. The competitions which took place from 20th November to 1st December 2024 were steered by Dr. Tecla Sum (Chief International Innovation Expert). The University was awarded the coveted first place in the international category of the competition held in St. Petersburg, Russia, showcasing its excellence in scientific research and technological advancements.
It was a landslide victory for Kenya and Africa courtesy of Masinde Muliro University Kenya emerged number one under international category and the four scooped medals under different categories.
1. Dr Sum : position one as Chief international innovation expert & mentor in Digital Transfer Technology in Emergency Medicine
2. Elvis Liuva Amiani position one in Digital Transfer Technology in Paramedicine
3. Moraa Edinah position one in Network and Systems administration.
4. Odoyo Bernard Phabian position one in Engineering Automation
In addition to securing the top honor, MMUST demonstrated its diverse innovation capabilities by scooping four other medals in various categories, further solidifying its reputation as a hub of cutting-edge solutions. This was courtesy of three students who participated in various categories of the competitions. They included: Mr. Elvis Liuva Amiani (Digital Transfer Technology in Paramedicine), Ms. Moraa Edinah (Network and Systems administration), and Mr. Odoyo Bernard Phabian (Engineering Automation). The accolades reflect the MMUST’s commitment to fostering creativity and encouraging students and researchers to push the boundaries of knowledge and technology.
